Service Description
Join artist and instructor, Jazmin Gallegos, to learn one of the oldest bookbinding techniques, The Coptic Stitch, a book form dating back to the early Egyptian Christians, the Copts, in the 2nd century AD. Previously made from materials including papyrus, parchment and wood, workshop participants will make the same structure, using contemporary bookbinding materials. The exposed spine not only showcases the beautifully intricate sewing pattern but also allows the book to lay flat when open which is a great for journaling, note-taking, drawing, and more! Materials will be provided and no experience is necessary. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In order to keep the community safe, we ask that you make sure to stay home if you are feeling sick.
