Terrarium Making Workshop

50.00

Date: Wednesday, March 20th

Time: 6-8pm

Where: 3 Cups

What is a terrarium? They are miniature ecosystems that can live for years, nurturing your relationship with nature in the process.

In this class, Jodi will guide you in creating your own little forest world to take home. You'll learn how terrariums work and how to care for them.

Workshop includes:

-Substrate (gravel, charcoal, and soil)

-Live moss

-3 terrarium plants

-complimentary coffee or tea

Participants will need to bring a clean, clear glass container with a lid. What kind of container works best for a terrarium? An ideal terrarium container is made of clear glass and has a lid. Pretty simple, right? Anything from a miniature perfume bottle to a giant carboy, demijohn, or aquarium could work. The container’s height and the size of its opening will influence your decision when choosing what to plant inside. Or vice versa—if you want to plant a tall alocasia, you’re not going to use a 4” spice jar. Narrow openings are tricky, but we have plenty of tricks to share! Also, Feel free to bring crystals, miniature people, or other symbolic items to add in. And, Jodi will bring some extra containers people can purchase if you don't bring your own

Jodi Smith fell in love with terrariums almost a decade ago. Thousands of terrariums later, she's more in love than ever, and is currently writing a book about them.
