Monotype differs from other traditional printmaking methods in that each print is different. It can be a multimedia process utilizing watercolor, gouache, oils, inks, paper, fabric, found objects, and other materials. How to Prepare for this Workshop -Bring reference photos to work from if desired and/or come to the workshop with themes in mind. Please work with original imagery / ideas / characters rather than by images / ideas / characters created by others. *Note: images will print as their mirror image. If you plan for text in your design make sure it is backwards. This will be covered in the workshop! -Materials that create visual textures will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own to print from. These might include leaves, flowers, thread, yarn, paper, plastic, or fabric. Nothing hard (no buttons, zippers, etc.) These materials will be thrown out after using them as they’ll be covered in ink from printing.
